Summer Associate
The Fowlkes Firm is an internationally recognized entertainment law firm that provides legal advice to some of the most innovative creatives and emerging companies in the arts, entertainment, digital media, tech, sports and fashion industries. Program:
The summer program covers a minimum of 10 weeks, from June 2022 to August 2022. Interns will be required to work approximately 30 hours per week. Associates will be paid a monthly stipend. Neither housing nor relocation assistance is provided for Summer Associate Participants. Applications must be submitted no later than February 22, 2022, at 11:59 PM EST.
Candidates must have solid law school and undergraduate academic credentials. Candidates should have demonstrated connections or interest in starting their legal career in the New York, NY area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide legal research assistance in various areas of the media and entertainment industry, including contract interpretation, claims, and intellectual property issues Review and analysis of contract terms to assist transactional attorneys with drafting
Assist attorneys to draft standard agreements with an emphasis on entertainment and intellectual property law.
Assist in development and updating of standard agreements, forms, and procedures.
Summarize contract terms for entry into the worldwide legal database.
Review checklist procedures for all contracts and standard templates. •
Review and organization of legal contract database and assist in development of legal procedure manual.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work experience at other leagues or teams, or in entertainment media a plus
Law students finishing their 1st year or 2nd year of law school
Very strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
Some prior internship and/or work experience is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Demonstrated interest in working in entertainment law
