Role: Assistant- Entertainment
Reports to: Managing Partner, Karl Fowlkes, Esq.
Location: 142 Lafayette Street, Newark, NJ, 07105
Part Time: (Approximately 20 hrs per week)
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to lawyer
Handle communication with clients
Locate and develop case relevant information
Facilitate incoming inquiries, client onboarding, and invoicing;
Maintain and improve the firm’s contract management system;
Prepare, proofread and edit correspondence and other written materials including agreements, letters, memos, cover sheets, and other legal documents;
Track the firm’s internal and external projects, as well as deal pipelines, in order to ensure important deadlines are met;
Conduct ad-hoc legal research for the firm;
Communicate with clients and external parties on behalf of the firm’s attorneys;
Answer phones, coordinate calendars, arrange meetings.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
0-2 years of relevant experience. (Recent Grads OK)
Experience in legal assistance
Interest and experience within the music, sports, television, or entertainment industry. Knowledge of the music industry is very helpful;
Plans to attend law school and/or prior legal experience is desirable, but not mandatory;
Disciplined, driven, self-starter;
Eagerness to learn and does so quickly;
Experience with Canva and/or Photoshop
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents;
Has an eagle-eye for detail;
Extremely organized and is always on the look-out for process improvements;
Ability to handle full-time workload during the week, as well as occasional hours on the weekend if necessary;
Over-communicates and is not afraid to ask clarifying questions;
Humble and conducts themselves in a professional manner.
Ability to multi-task projects, manage stakeholders across the company and pivot across functions with great organization, detail, flexibility, accountability, and proactivity
